Wedding Day Questions

You want your perfect day to be perfect. That’s why we’ve answered the most common questions our brides ask so you can prepare for your big day.

Why should I have a consultation/trial run?
The consultation is almost as important as the day of your wedding. One of the main reasons to do a trial run is so that you and your stylist can establish what looks best with your face shape and facial features. The trial run also gives the stylist an opportunity to get to know your hair so that they can execute” your look” perfectly on the day of the wedding.  We want you to have an opportunity to build trust with your stylist so that on the day of the wedding you are relaxed and confident with your look.  We can also take this time to decide if we need hair extensions and/or hair pieces put in prior to the wedding day. It is important you look and feel perfect!

Should I bring pictures?
Yes!! Pictures are great (bring to the trial run or email before) so your stylist can have an idea of what you are looking for and what your style is. Even bring in a picture of your wedding dress so we know the theme and feel of your wedding day.

All others in the wedding party should send pictures through e-mail (one month before) of styles they would like as well. This ensures the day will run smoothly and without you having any added stress!

What should I wear for the day of?
Make sure you have a zip or a button up shirt so you don’t have to pull anything over your head.  We wouldn’t want anything in your hair to get pulled out or catch on hairpieces!

Should I shampoo my hair?
Clean hair is preferred.  Shampooing the day before is best.  Use a medium weight gel or mousse and blow dry straight.  Do NOT flat iron as the hair will not hold curl.

What should I bring?
Bring any accessories you’d like to have put in your hair.  Also, any pictures of hairstyles and makeup.

When should I color/cut my hair?
We don’t recommend doing a dramatic hair color change before your wedding.  If you want to be a blonde for example, start this process at least four months prior to your wedding day.  This way you will be prepared for any surprises! Then you should only need to refresh color one to two weeks prior to the wedding. (Depending on hair growth)

Having your hair cut is completely up to you as long as no major changes are done between the consultation and the day of the wedding.

Is a photographer allowed to come to The Studio to take pictures?
Absolutely!! We know you want to have lots of pictures of your special day. We do ask that the photographer respect the time and space of the stylist and does not interrupt any services.

When should I reserve my appointments for my wedding day?
As soon as you know the date! Wedding season is always a busy season and many events are booked months in advance. We ask that you fill out a bridal contract and return it to The Studio so we can ensure that we have the proper amount of time booked for your special day.

What food and/or beverages are provided?
The Studio provides beverages daily such as: Coffee/Tea/Water
